All-electric awards program and directory

Top prize $3,000 for commercial, $1,000 for residential

Peninsula Clean Energy invites designers, builders, developers and owners of all-electric residential and commercial buildings to submit your projects to the All-Electric Leadership Awards and Directory. The awards and directory will spotlight leadership and innovation in all-electric buildings across San Mateo County. Eligible projects may be in design, construction, or operation.

There will be a $3,000 award for the top commercial entry in each category and  $1,000 for the top residential entry in each category. These and other selected projects will be featured in a special section of the Peninsula Clean Energy website and social media platforms.

All-Electric Leadership Awards

For leaders working on projects located in San Mateo County, the Peninsula Clean Energy All-Electric Leadership Awards showcase the buildings that are driving this standard in both residential and commercial sectors.

Award submission deadline: January 15, 2021. Awards will be presented in Spring 2021. For more information on the selection process, please see FAQs. Award categories include:

All-Electric Leader

Spotlights a residential and a commercial project that demonstrate leadership by fully electrifying all buildings loads. Submitted projects may be in design, construction, or operation. They must be operating or designed to operate with all energy loads fully electric  Projects may be commercial or residential and may include new construction or renovated public or private buildings located in San Mateo County.

All-Electric Emerging Leader

Spotlights a residential and a commercial project that demonstrate major strides towards electrification. They must demonstrate a significant transition away from methane gas and have a plan for full electrification. Projects may be in design, construction or operation. Projects may be retrofits or renovations but can be new construction only if the submitter can show that all-electric is not yet feasible. Projects may be public or private buildings and must be located in San Mateo County.

All-electric buildings directory

This online directory will be a reference for those who are exploring design and construction of all-electric buildings. Projects submitted to be included in the directory will first be vetted by Peninsula Clean Energy’s team of building experts. Directory users can search and sort projects based on factors including building location, size and type.

Projects will be added to the directory on an ongoing basis, but to be included in the 2021 Awards Program, projects must be submitted by January 15, 2021.

Featured projects

Projects submitted to the online directory may be selected by Peninsula Clean Energy to be featured on their website and in social media. Featured projects will be showcased through images and a short narrative.
