EV Ready Program

The EV Ready Program is a $28 million electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure program seeking to install 3,500 charging ports in San Mateo County over four years. The program offers:

  • $24 million in project incentives
  • Free technical assistance to help design and guide project
  • Access to negotiated EV charging station pricing
  • A trained and responsive Trade Ally network of local contractors to install your charging ports

This program is for workplaces, multi-unit dwellings, public parking areas, and other public locations to improve access to EV charging and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.

What is the next step?

The first step for interested program applicants is to complete the Technical Assistance Application. This will allow us to provide you with information about applying for funding, eligibility, and other EV Ready program updates. The Technical Assistance Application is available now on the EV Ready Portal:

Does my project qualify for incentives?

Your site may qualify for incentives from one or more of the EV Ready funding options. These include incentives from the CALeVIP Peninsula-Silicon Valley Project, Peninsula Clean Energy EV Charger Incentives, and an annual grant program funded by Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

Once you sign-up for Technical Assistance, we will help you evaluate the programs and your eligibility.

Free technical assistance

As part of the EV Ready program, Peninsula Clean Energy offers free technical assistance for your EV charging project through its program partner, CLEAResult. For eligible properties, CLEAResult will provide project scope and design, helping to minimize cost and maximizing value. Participating sites may receive:
  • Site visit
  • Load analysis
  • Site layout
  • Contractor bid
  • Permit support
  • Installation process
  • Rebate assistance
In addition to free technical assistance, you may benefit from lower pricing on EV charging stations. Peninsula Clean Energy is negotiating volume pricing for EV charging equipment. Preferred pricing will only be available to program participants. Interested program applicants should complete the Technical Assistance Application on the EV Ready Portal.
