Can I combine the PCE rebate with the California E-Bike Incentive Project rebate, or other available e-bike rebates?

Yes, you can use both rebates if you have been approved for both! You will need to use the other rebates first, then you can apply the Peninsula Clean Energy rebate towards the remaining balance.

Example 1: If you were awarded $2,000 from the State rebate and your bike is $2,700, use the $2,000 from the State first. Your rebate from Peninsula Clean Energy would be $700 (the PCE rebate is $1,000 or the remaining cost of the e-bike).

Example 2: If you were awarded $2,000 from the State rebate and your bike is $5,000, you can combine both rebates and receive a combined $3,000 from both of our programs.

Please note that this only applies to qualifying, in-person purchases, and you must be approved by both programs prior to purchasing your e-bike.

California E-Bike Incentive Project rebate

Our rebate provides up to $1,000 or the maximum price of your e-bike, whichever is less. For example: if your bike is $900, your rebate will be $900.

If you are stacking this rebate with another rebate, use the other rebates first. Then you can use the Peninsula Clean Energy rebate towards the remaining balance.

The application will open on June 12, 2024, and close when funds are exhausted.

Peninsula Clean Energy considers a household as a single address. If multiple families live at a single address, only one application from that address may be submitted. This requirement does not include apartments, condos, or multi-unit dwellings that have a designated unit number.

We only allow for one rebate per household, even if the e-bike was purchased years ago.

No, each household is limited to one application (one bike per household).

Lease FAQs

Can I purchase an e-bike AND get a lease?

No, you will need to choose whether you would like a rebate to purchase an e-bike or to lease an e-bike through Ridepanda.

PCE has worked with RidePanda to offer discounted leases. If you choose to lease your bike, your rebate will be applied as a discounted lease rate, over a 12-month period. Your lease also includes basic preventative and theft maintenance coverage. See the RidePanda website for more information.

PCE is offering a discounted lease term for up to 12 months. However, the lease is month to month for as long you’d like to keep leasing, subject to RidePanda terms and conditions. Leases less than 12 months may be subject to a restocking fee.

At the end of the 12 months, you can choose to purchase your bike at a discount, return your bike, or keep leasing at the full subscription rate. If you cancel your subscription lease before the 12 month term, you will be subject to a restocking fee.

Please visit the Terms and Conditions on RidePanda's website here.

With Ridepanda you can order online from a large selection of e-bikes and scooters from brands like Specialized, Giant, Diamondback, Momentum, and others. You can browse their catalog here.

There is no upfront cost. You simply begin paying month to month, and at the end of the 12 month term, you can choose to keep leasing at an undiscounted rate, return your e-bike, or purchase your e-bike at a discount.

Your lease also includes basic preventative maintenance and theft insurance coverage provided by Ridepanda.

Nope! No license needed to ride Ridepanda e-bikes, e-scooters, and pedal bikes in the US.

You can email support@ridepanda.com with questions. Ridepanda can set up an in-person support session at your local PandaHub if needed.
