Lower Electricity Rates for Los Banos Customers
Your electricity generation rates are going down—helping you save even more.
We know high energy costs are a burden, so we’re lowering our electricity generation rates to give you more savings.
Peninsula Clean Energy powers your home with cleaner, more affordable electricity—while PG&E delivers it and sends your bill. Due to the higher PCIA charges following PG&E’s January rate change, we are giving PCE customers an additional 1.6 cent PCIA Adjustment Credit per kWh, saving you on average $5 per month compared to PG&E generation rates.
Even when rates change, it’s not always clear why bills look the way they do or which charges are within Peninsula Clean Energy’s control versus PG&E’s. Our goal is to be clear, straightforward, and focused on affordability wherever possible.
Lower Rates
How does PCE keep electricity generation rates lower than PG&E’s?
Peninsula Clean Energy is your local, not-for-profit electricity provider, serving 97% of San Mateo County and Los Banos.
Because we’re locally governed and don’t have shareholders, we focus on long-term planning, stable rates, and low overhead. Savings go right back to our customers and the communities we serve.
The video above breaks it all down, including:

Cleaner energy and local benefits
Over time, these savings are like getting one week of electricity for “free” each year. The average household has saved hundreds of dollars by staying with PCE.
You don’t have to sign up, switch plans, or change your service—these savings happen automatically just by being a PCE customer.
