Coming Soon: WestLight Energy
Peninsula Clean Energy is becoming WestLight Energy
Effective July 1, we’re updating our name to WestLight Energy, because it’s clearer and better reflects the communities we serve.
The name and brand are changing, but our mission and commitment to the community are staying the same.
Your service and rates are not changing. We’ll continue to offer ways to help you save money and use clean energy at home and in your daily life.
A decade ago, neighbors, cities, and local leaders came together to build something new: a community-driven approach to energy on the Peninsula. Together, we’ve shown that electricity can be cleaner, more affordable, and focused on community.
Now, as we enter our second decade, we’re updating our name to WestLight Energy. It’s easier to say and better reflects the communities we serve.
It also makes our role clearer: WestLight Energy provides your electricity from sources like wind, solar, geothermal, and hydro, while PG&E delivers it and maintains the poles and wires.
As more homes and businesses switch to electric, from vehicles to heating, we’re focused on making clean energy work in more parts of everyday life. WestLight Energy reflects that broader role in powering our communities.
WestLight Energy helps us capture something bigger: the spirit of the West, the promise of light, and the forward momentum of the work we’re doing together to decarbonize our communities in San Mateo County and Los Banos.
WestLight Energy is easier to say, spell, and remember. It reflects our full service area and helps reduce confusion with our partners at PG&E, making it easier for customers to understand their service and get the support they need.
No, this is only a name change. Your service and account are not changing.
As a WestLight Energy customer, you will continue to receive:
- Same clean energy: ECOPlus customers will continue to receive 100% clean electricity with at least 50% coming from renewable sources. ECO100 customers will continue to receive electricity that is 100% renewable and carbon-free.
- Same energy services: Your rates, rebates, and available offers are not changing.
- Same delivery service: PG&E will continue delivering electricity to your home or business using their poles and wires.
Effective July 1, you’ll see the name WestLight Energy on our website and in communications from us, with your energy bill reflecting the new name beginning in mid-July.
There’s nothing you need to do. Your service will continue as usual.
