Green Access Program

Peninsula Clean Energy is building new solar arrays to provide Green Access participants with 100% clean renewable energy. This solar is not installed on the roofs of the participants, but rather in other locations. PG&E still delivers this electricity to customers through their wires. This makes it easier for renters and other residents who have difficulty installing solar to participate.

Savings from the solar energy is passed to the program participants in the form of the 20% bill discount.

More information about this initiative of the California Public Utilities Commission can be found at cpuc.ca.gov/SolarInDACs or by calling 1-800-649-7570. You can also read more in the Terms and Conditions below.

  2. Be on the CARE or FERA discount rate. See our Lower Your Bill page 了解更多信息。
  3. Live in a designated eligible census tract as defined by the state’s CalEnviroScreeen 4.0 map. This online map identifies California census tracts that are disproportionately burdened by multiple sources of pollution. Residents who live in a census tract with an overall percentile range of 75-100 may be eligible.

As eligibility is based on residential address, participating customers who move to a new eligible address must notify Peninsula Clean Energy within 90 days to maintain their discount. Complete the form below to notify Peninsula Clean Energy of a change of address

Enrollment

The Green Access program has limited capacity due to regulations from the California Public Utilities Commission. Customers are enrolled in Peninsula Clean Energy’s Green Access program in several ways:

  1. Some San Mateo County customers signed up for the discount through our partner organization El Concilio when the program launched in 2021. Additional eligible customers were then randomly selected and automatically enrolled to fill program capacity.
  2. All City of Los Banos customers who previously participated in PG&E’s equivalent program (called Green Saver) are automatically enrolled in Peninsula Clean Energy’s Green Access in April 2022 to continue enjoying the same 20% discount.
  3. A random selection of eligible customers is automatically enrolled by Peninsula Clean Energy as additional program capacity opens up.

How the discount is calculated

The Peninsula Clean Energy Green Access discount is calculated by applying a 20% credit to the charges for electricity on the customers’ PG&E bill. This discount will be applied after any applicable discount for the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) or Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) programs, and before any applicable taxes. The discount will appear as a credit in a new line item called Peninsula Clean Energy Green Access on the Peninsula Clean Energy Generation page of the bill, typically found on page 4.
