Peninsula Clean Energy Gives $300 Bill Credit To Income-Qualified Customers

One-time automatic credit for approximately 5,800 CARE, FERA customers

REDWOOD CITY, CA –  Peninsula Clean Energy is giving income-qualified customers in the City of Los Banos a one-time $300 credit on their electricity bill.

The credit will automatically appear on bills in December or January for approximately 5,800 Los Banos customers who currently receive discounted rates through either the California for Energy (CARE) or Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) programs.

“We know that rising energy costs have been difficult for many of our customers, and we are working hard to keep electric generation rates down,” Peninsula Clean Energy CEO Shawn Marshall said.

Customers already on the CARE or FERA rate plans do not need to take any action to receive the bill credit.

Peninsula Clean Energy offers all of its customers a discount of more than five percent below PG&E’s baseline electric generation rate.

Peninsula Clean Energy’s electric generation charge appears as a separate line item on customer PG&E bills, replacing a higher generation charge imposed by PG&E. PG&E still charges all customers, including those receiving Peninsula Clean Energy-generated power, for gas service and delivering the electricity.

In addition, Peninsula Clean Energy offers a variety of customer energy programs to lower costs, incentives to replace old gas appliances, and rebates to make the switch to electric transportation.
